Rep. Veasey's Statement on the First Case of Ebola in Dallas, TX
WASHINGTON, DC– U.S. Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33) released the following statement regarding the announcement of the first case of Ebola in Dallas, TX:
In light of the first United States case of Ebola confirmed in Dallas, I have faith that Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital is following all Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Texas Department of Heath recommendations to ensure the safety of its patients, hospital staff, volunteers, physicians and visitors.
I look forward to learning more information about this serious matter. In the meantime, I want to encourage Metroplex residents to follow all precautionary measures and recommendations by the CDC and other public health agencies. I stand ready to assist in the coming weeks to ensure that we are taking every precaution possible and that the necessary resources are deployed to fight the spread of Ebola here at home.
