Rep. Veasey Votes for Universal Background Checks

Washington, D.C. – Today, House Democrats voted on House Resolution 8 to pass universal background checks. Rep. Veasey, Whip for the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force, supported the measure and issued the following statement:

"Today we save lives, said Congressman Veasey. "Communities in Texas, and across the country who have faced gun violence head-on can feel safer because of H.R.8, which includes universal background checks for gun owners. This makes our country safer and stronger. Thankful for this progress."
