June 10, 2021

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Veasey (TX-33) applauded the bipartisan passage of the INVEST in America Act of 2021 out of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. The bill is a five-year reauthorization of surface transportation measures and includes critical funding that Rep. Veasey secured for local projects, including the Fort Worth Transportation Authority and Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART).

"Bolstering North Texas' infrastructure and creating good jobs for hardworking Texans is a top priority of mine—especially as we continue to get to the other side of this pandemic," said Rep. Veasey. "The INVEST in America Act of 2021 will advance these goals and I am proud that this expansive package includes key funding for the infrastructure in Dallas and Fort Worth. I look forward to continuing to work with my colleagues to ensure this bill is signed into law."

Veasey worked with local partners and the committee to secure North Texas priorities in the INVEST in America Act including:

Support for North Texas projects to improve transportation;

- Over $15 million for Fort Worth Transportation Authority (Trinity Metro)
- Over $2 million for Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART)

The Invest in America Act makes investments across surface transportation needs including in roads, bridges, mass transit, passenger and freight rail, and clean energy transportation. It will now head to the full House for a vote on final passage. Read a fact sheet on the INVEST in America Act here.
