May 9, 2019

Fort Worth, TX - Rep. Veasey joined high school students from I.M. Terrell Academy for STEM and Visual Performing Arts for a tour of the Amazon fulfillment center in Fort Worth to discuss STEM career opportunities, learn about automation, and hear how investments in higher education can lead to a career path at companies like Amazon.

"I was thrilled to be able to join I.M. Terrell students to see their excitement in a variety of STEM related careers," said Rep. Veasey. "Amazon is the one of the most successful companies in the country, and its presence in North Texas creates opportunities for our students interested in STEM to explore careers in software engineering, management roles, and much more."

"Our Fort Worth Amazon robotics fulfillment center senior leadership team was honored to host I.M. Terrell Academy for STEM and Visual Performing Arts students, and share our educational and career journeys to inspire them. At Amazon, technology and innovation fuel our business, and we recognize the jobs of tomorrow require a stronger aptitude for STEM skills," said Bill Hicks, DFW7 general manager. "We're proud to support STEM education programs that equip and empower the innovators of tomorrow. By supporting schools like I.M. Terrell that create hands-on learning opportunities like today, we're investing in their students' success."
