Rep. Veasey Joins Secretary Granholm in Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex to Discuss Expansion of Clean Energy Infrastructure to Lower Costs for Texans
NORTH TEXAS - Today, Representative Marc Veasey welcomed U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm in visiting the Lennox R&D facility for a press conference to highlight new investments in the DOE's Cold Climate Heat Pump Challenge–a move that bolsters clean energy to lower utility costs. Afterward, Representative Marc Veasey (TX-33) and the Secretary joined local energy leaders and elected officials for a tour of a local IBEW facility to discuss innovations in the clean energy infrastructure space.
"The Biden-Harris Administration and Democrats in Congress remain laser-focused on bringing down rising costs for folks in Texas and beyond," said Representative Veasey. "Today, I was proud to join Secretary Granholm and local community leaders to discuss one of many ways on how we can solve this problem by deploying clean energy infrastructure to help lower utility costs as we go through the summer months."

Today's discussions focused on the Department of Energy's initiative to help companies like Lennox in the Metroplex get the proper tools and funding to accelerate a safer, cleaner, and greener method to heat and cool homes and buildings. Additionally, Representative Veasey, Secretary Granholm, and local community leaders used the second tour to discuss curbing rising energy costs and gas prices by deploying clean energy mechanisms like solar, wind, energy storage, and electric vehicles.
