Rep. Veasey Delivers More Dollars for Local Projects in Second Government Funding Package

March 22, 2024

With passage of today’s package, Veasey secures additional funding for North Texas

WASHINGTON Today, Representative Veasey voted to protect local jobs and secure additional funding for Community Funding Projects in Texas’s 33rd District. This package builds on the millions of dollars Veasey previously secured in the first government funding package. These projects were selected to meet serious community needs in North Texas.

“I am pleased to vote for these critically needed government funding packages that have secured over $14M that will directly benefit Texas’s 33rd District.” Rep. Veasey said. “These investments create jobs, making a real difference in the lives of so many in North Texas I am proud to have fought for funding that will make our community healthier, safer, and stronger.”

Rep. Veasey championed funding for one project included in the second package of government funding bills that will directly benefit Texas’s 33rd District residents.

This community investment follows the previously announced projects included in the first government funding package here.

Veasey and his House Democratic colleagues were successful in removing harmful extreme House Republican policies from these bills that attempted to make abortion illegal everywhere, slash efforts to fight climate change, and threaten our national security. Instead, these final bipartisan 2024 funding bills will help keep our communities safe, fight inflation, and move America forward. Taken together, the funding for Texas’s 33rd District and the funding increases for critical government programs will continue to grow our local economy and support our communities.

This legislation is expected to be signed into law by President Biden later this week. A detailed summary of the bill is available here.
