Rep. Veasey Applauds Federal Transit Administration Decision on TEX Rail Project

June 29, 2016

Fort Worth, Dallas, TX - Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, released the following statement after the Federal Transit Administration sent a letter of “no prejudice” to the Fort Worth Transportation Authority (FWTA) for the construction of TEX Rail:

“The DFW Metroplex is home to one of the largest airports in the nation which serves as a vital job and economic engine for our community. That is why I applaud the announcement by the Federal Transit Administration that the T may proceed with procurement of all the materials for the construction of the TEX rail project that will connect downtown Fort Worth to DFW Airport. This much needed transit solution will increase mobility for thousands of DFW residents to get to work, school, and other modes of travel. Most importantly, TEX rail will not only ensure that North Texas remains a leader in the transportation industry, but will also create good paying jobs and spur economic growth in the DFW Metroplex.”
