Rep. Veasey Announces Additional $20 Million Investment for Trinity River Project from Bipartisan Infrastructure Law
FORT WORTH – Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33) today announced that as part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that he helped pass, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will invest an additional $20 million to continue the design and construction of the Trinity River Flood Control Project. This new funding builds on the original $403 million in funding that was secured for the project in January 2022.
"The Trinity River Flood Control Project will provide much-needed flood mitigation and growth opportunities to Fort Worth. The investment of federal funds in this vital project is exactly why I supported the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which will bring about $20 billion to North Texas," said Rep. Veasey. "I look forward to continuing to work alongside Democrats in Congress and the Biden-Harris Administration to secure key funding that will help the state of Texas thrive."
This funding will help projects like the Trinity River Flood Control Project increase climate resilience and make long-overdue waterway improvements, as well as secure additional funds through supplemental appropriations to help impacted states recover and become more resilient to natural disasters.
