Rep. Marc Veasey Holds Forum to Help Small Businesses Learn About Government Contracting
GRAND PRAIRIE, TX —On Friday, July 26, Rep. Marc Veasey (TX-33) will host a small business forum with Metroplex small business owners, local chambers, and other stakeholders to connect them with the resources that help small business owners on the path to becoming certified for set-aside and sole source contracts with federal agencies.
The Federal Government awards billions in contracts annually to small business owners. The forum will help local businesses compete in the global economy and ensure that they know how to access the services available to help them grow, hire and prosper.
Representing the newly created 33rd Congressional District, Congressman Veasey is committed to helping small businesses create jobs and to growing the local Dallas-Fort Worth economy.
“Creating an environment where more Metroplex businesses are able to start and succeed is an important goal of mine,” said Rep. Veasey. “By furthering access to small business resources, like financial assistance, our businesses can grow and expand, strengthening the middle-class, our economy and creating well-paying jobs.”
Representatives from the following federal agencies will participate:
- Yolanda Garcia Olivarez, SBA Regional Administrator
- Carolyn Staten, Deputy, Office of Small Business Programs, The United States Army Corps of Engineers
- Charlie DeCeasar, Supervisory Contracting Officer, The Department of Labor
- Tony L. Gregg, Business Specialist GSA, Office of Small Business Utilization, The General Services Administration
- Charles Williams, JSC Senior Small Business Specialist, NASA
