Congressman works as convenience store operator as part of his April constituent outreach initiative

Fort Worth, TX – On Friday, April 22, 2016, Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, donned the staple QT red polo and worked with Quik Trip trainer, Emily Krueger, during a routine morning at the popular convenience store in Fort Worth, Texas.

Emily Krueger, an initial trainer responsible for training new employees and assistant managers, has worked for Quik Trip since 2010. She shared that Quik Trip provides an ideal working environment where the employees are valued and happy to report to work each day. Krueger also commented that having Congressman Veasey on-site and working alongside the QT team demonstrated that “he’s actually willing to put in the work here with everyone else working everyday jobs.”

“Working closely with the Quik Trip team gave me a new appreciation for the commitment convenience store operators demonstrate in serving their customers in a fast-paced environment,” Congressman Veasey said. “Additionally, Quik Trip’s business model provides pay and career growth opportunities for its employees and it shows in their dedication to the company and their client base.”

This is Congressman Veasey’s fourth time “on the job” in 2016 as part of his Marc Means Business’ constituent outreach initiative, where he catches a first-hand glimpse into jobs that exist in the district and the challenges that constituents face at work and in their daily lives.
