MEDIA ADVISORY: Rep. Veasey Works at Local DFW Quinceñera Shop

May 25, 2016

Veasey will work at Veronica’s Designs prepping customers for their milestone celebration

Dallas, TX – On Friday, May 27, Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, will lend a hand at Oak Cliff’s local boutique, Veronica’s Designs, as part of his monthly “Marc Means Business” initiative. Veasey will spend the morning assisting Juana Sanchez, owner, as they prep for a local family’s quinceañera that evening and learning more about the special customs and traditions that surround the Latin American celebration.

In Latin American culture, a quinceañera commemorates a young girl’s journey from childhood to maturity when she turns 15 years old. The quinceañera celebration traditionally begins with a religious ceremony followed by a reception. Since opening its doors nine years ago, Veronica’s Designs has helped hundreds of local DFW families mark their daughters’ special occasion.

Since March 2014, Veasey has spent a day each month working at a different job in his district learning about the diverse range of businesses in the 33rd Congressional District of Texas. The Marc Means Business series connects Veasey with constituents at their place of employment to better understand the challenges they face in their work and daily lives.
