Veasey Features Local Transportation Union Head as Virtual Guest for President Biden’s Joint Address to Congress 100 Days Into Administration

DALLAS, TEXAS – Today, Rep. Veasey held a virtual press conference ahead of President Joe Biden's first Presidential Address to a joint session of Congress this evening, marking 100 days into the President's term. Rep. Veasey was joined at the press conference by Mr. Kenneth Day from Dallas. Mr. Day currently serves as the president of the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1338 in Dallas. Before holding various leadership roles at the ATU, Mr. Day spent nearly 25 years as a bus driver working across the Metroplex.

While in-person attendance at this year's Joint Presidential Address will be limited due to COVID-19 safety protocols, Rep. Veasey featured Mr. Kenneth Day as his virtual guest to this year's speech and held today's virtual press conference to preview what they believe will covered in the President's remarks.

"100 Days into our work with this Administration, the American Rescue Plan is delivering shots in arms, money in pockets, children in schools and people in jobs. Americans like Mr. Kenneth Day are the true heroes of this recovery, and I am proud to uplift him as my virtual guest to the Presidential Address," said Congressman Veasey (TX-33). "I look forward to hearing what the President has to say tonight and continuing to work with the Biden Administration to deliver extraordinary progress for the American people."
