Following the tour, Reps. Veasey, Allred, and Johnson spoke about their efforts in Congress to pass the American Rescue Plan and deliver much-needed aid to North Texans. They also noted the safety and efficacy of the coronavirus vaccine and encouraged North Texans to receive it when they're eligible.

"The American Rescue Plan is about getting shots in arms, money in pockets, children in schools, and people in jobs to ensure we can get back on the right track here in Texas," said Congressman Marc Veasey. "Making sure every Texan who wants a vaccine can get one will help us crush the virus in our state and get our economy moving again."

"I have been clear since the beginning of this crisis that a once-in-a-generation pandemic calls for a once-in-a-generation response from Congress – the American Rescue Plan meets the needs of this moment," said Congressman Colin Allred. "The American Rescue Plan will help us stop the spread of the virus by investing in vaccine distribution as well as enhanced testing and tracing, and help Americans weather this crisis through direct payments, an increased Child Tax Credit, and more and better support for workers and small businesses."

"With tens of millions of Americans sick, more than half a million lives lost, and millions more unemployed and without access to basic necessities, we can no longer afford the cost of inaction," said Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson. "That's why I support the American Rescue Plan. This landmark legislation will deliver critical relief to Texans by investing in a national vaccine program, providing guidelines to safely reopen schools and businesses, and getting financial aid to struggling families."
