Grand Prairie High School Student Takes Top Prize In Congressman Veasey's Congressional Art Competition
DALLAS/FORT WORTH, TX – Carlos Ramirez from Grand Prairie High School Named Winner for the Congressional Art Competition.
Yesterday, Congressman Marc Veasey announced Carlos Ramirez from Grand Prairie High School as the winning student for the 33rd District’s Congressional Art Competition. Carlos Ramirez is a senior at Grand Prairie High School and his winning entry, “Sewing Machines” will hang on display in the U.S. Capitol for a year.
“I am pleased to announce the first ever winner of the Congressional Art Competition for the 33rd Congressional District. Carlos Ramirez’s artwork represents the best and brightest young artistic talent from across Dallas-Fort Worth. I look forward to seeing Carlos’ artwork on display in the Capitol and salute all the teachers and families who help shape our young minds gathered here today,” said Congressman Marc Veasey.

- Diamond Hill High School
- Laurence Dunbar High School
- Everman High School
- Grand Prairie High School
- Northside High School
The Congressional Art Competition “An Artistic Discovery” reception was held at the East Foyer at Mountain View College, where the artwork will remain on display until May 3.
