Congressman Veasey Works Shift at Renfro Foods, Inc.

April 21, 2017

Rep. Veasey will work at Renfro Foods, Inc. during his April ’Marc Means Business’ Work Day

Fort Worth, TX – On Monday, April 24, Congressman Marc Veasey will take a shift at Renfro Foods, Inc. as part of his April ‘Marc Means Business' work day. During his shift, Veasey will work on the production line to help make 145 jars of sauce per minute, prepare Mrs. Renfro's products for nationwide distribution, and learn what it takes to keep a 77 year old family-owned business thriving.

In 1940, George Renfro and his wife, Arthurine, co-founded George Renfro Food Company in the garage of their North Fort Worth home where they distributed packaged spices and sauces. Today, George and Arthurine's family - sons Jack and Bill, who now consult, and grandchildren Doug, Becky and James, who continue to run the company - have grown the Mrs. Renfro's brand to include more than 30 salsas, peppers, relishes, and sauces, which are available in all 50 states, as well as in Canada, the Caribbean, England, Scotland, Germany, Spain, and Australia.

Since March 2014, Congressman Veasey has worked at more than 35 small and large businesses across the 33rd Congressional District of Texas. The Marc Means Business constituent outreach series connects Veasey with residents at their place of employment to better understand the challenges they face in their work and daily lives.
