Congressman Veasey Statement on Passage of $7.85 Billion Aid Package for Hurricane Harvey Relief

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, released the following statement after H.R. 3672, FY17 Supplemental Appropriations for Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief, passed the House of Representatives. The disaster aid package will provide $7.85 billion to aid in Hurricane Harvey relief, including $7.4 billion for FEMA and $450 million for the Small Business Administration (SBA).

"I am grateful for the outpouring of support Texas has received from communities across the nation following the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. Natural disasters know no party, and I'm proud to report that the House of Representatives passed a disaster aid package totaling $7.85 billion to help Americans affected by the catastrophic event.

I want to thank our first responders and everyday citizens whose heroic actions helped save the lives of many. The DFW Metroplex continues to stand with those affected by Hurricane Harvey and will continue to answer the call to help our fellow Texans and neighbors."
