Congressman rolls ups his sleeves to join the furniture assembly team at Gulfstream Aerospace’s Dallas service location

Dallas, TX – Yesterday, Congressman Veasey left his suit and tie behind to join the furniture assembly team at Gulfstream Aerospace’s Dallas Love-Field service site. During his workday, Veasey sanded wood for conference tables, assembled furniture, and learned firsthand about the business aviation industry.

Gulfstream Aerospace’s 1958 debut of the Gulfstream I, the world’s first purpose-built business aircraft, has since grown into a bustling aviation company that employs 15,000 worldwide. In the DFW Metroplex, Gulfstream employs over 650 Texans to help complete Gulfstream’s G150 and G280 aircraft and provide maintenance for all Gulfstream models.

Dallas, TX—Master Craftsman Roger supervises Congressman Veasey as he assembles a conference table that will be installed in one of Gulfstream’s G280 aircraft.

“As co-chair of the General Aviation Caucus and a lifelong DFW resident, I have always understood the value of the aviation industry to my district, Texas, and the United States. The aviation industry remains a key component of the DFW Metroplex’s economy, bringing new jobs into North Texas and helping make the DFW Metroplex a major hub of global commerce. Today, I worked alongside the hardworking Texans who labor to build the country’s latest aircraft. I remain committed to supporting industries that both help the local economy grow and provide a good living for their hardworking employees,” Veasey said.

Each month, Congressman Veasey joins a local DFW business as part of his Marc Means Business’ constituent outreach initiative, where he catches a first-hand glimpse into jobs that exist in the district and the challenges that constituents face at work and in their daily lives.
