Veasey is Proud to Announce Recent Appointment as Assistant Whip, Regional Whip, and Co-Chairmanships in the New Congress

Washington, D.C. – Today, January 16, 2015, Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, announced he will continue to serve as a member on the House Armed Services Committee and the House Science, Space and Technology Committee in the 114th Congress. In addition, Veasey proudly accepts his appointment by U.S House Democratic Minority Whip, Steny Hoyer, MD-5, to serve as an Assistant Whip and Regional Whip.

"It's an honor to continue to serve on the House Armed Services Committee and the Science, Space and Technology Committee." said Rep. Veasey. "The Metroplex has a strong tradition with and connection to our national security, energy resources, and state of the art technology. These important committees will enable me to remain a strong voice for our community for growing our economy and preparing our children for the 21st century workforce."

Congressman Veasey added, "I am also greatly honored to have been appointed to serve as Democratic Assistant Whip for all House Democrats and as Democratic Regional Whip for the House Democratic Delegation in Texas. The 114th Congress also brings change to Congressman Veasey's leadership in various Congressional Caucuses. Veasey will serve as Co-Chair for the Congressional General Aviation Caucus that informs Congress about the important role that General Aviation serves in our transportation system; Co-Chair of the Congressional Direct Selling Caucus, a bipartisan forum to champion the interests of millions of entrepreneurs in direct selling; and as Co-Chair of the Congressional Caucus on Youth Sports that strives to promote the increased health and physical fitness of our children through group and individual sports.
