Congressman Veasey Announces 2014 Service Academy Nominees
Seven young men and women from across the 33rd Congressional District nominated
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, announced seven service academy nominees from across the Metroplex to attend the United States Service Academies for the Class of 2018.
The following seven students have been nominated by Congressman Veasey to attend the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, and the Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point. Congressman Veasey’s nomination does not guarantee appointment, as the final decision is left to the academies’ respective admissions boards.

To date, one of the seven nominees has already received an appointment. Enock K. Langat of Irving, Texas has been contacted and offered an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy.

Nominees are selected through an application and interview process and are chosen based on variety of factors that are not limited to: academic achievement, career motivation, leadership ability and demonstration of character. Students can be nominated to more than one service academy.
