Congressman Marc Veasey of released the following statement after the passing of Representative Elijah Cummings (MD-07):

"We lost a fighter in the good fight. It was an honor to have the opportunity to serve alongside Rep. Elijah Cummings. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Maya, and the rest of his family during this difficult time."
