Today’s announcement secures critical funding for North Texas frontline health centers
FORT WORTH, TEXAS – Today, Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33) released the following statement after the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced that it would invest more than $1 billion in 1,387 health centers as part of a historic U.S. response to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic:
"I applaud today's announcement that will secure critical funding that will help our frontline community health care clinics battle the COVID-19 pandemic, including those across our Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex. This funding will help health clinics like Los Barrios Unidos and North Texas Area Community Health Centers in the district I represent detect, prevent, diagnose, and treat COVID-19; and maintain or increase health capacity and staffing levels to address this public health emergency. As your member of Congress, I will continue to fight for key investments like these to ensure our North Texas community can properly address the outbreak and recover when this public health emergency has passed."
