Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33) Announces Guest for Next Tuesday’s State of the Union Address

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33) announced that Miguel Solis of Dallas, Texas will accompany him to the State of the Union Address on Tuesday, February 4, 2020.

A native Texan, Miguel Solis was elected to the Dallas ISD Board of Trustees on November 5, 2013 through special election and has since been re-elected twice. Solis' recent decision to conclude an eleven-year tenure serving the District's students has included seven years on the board, where he has served as President and Vice-President making him the youngest ever to hold these positions. Solis also serves as Executive Director of the non-profit Coalition for a New Dallas where he works to improve the lives of everyday Dallasites and previously co-founded and directed the Latino Center for Leadership Development where he oversaw the organization's efforts to develop new political leaders and policy ideas for the Latino community.
