CONGRESSMAN MARC VEASEY SUPPORTS PRESIDENT OBAMA’S IMMIGRATION PLAN

FORT WORTH, TX – Immigration Reform is a Top Priority for Congressman Veasey.

Following today’s immigration reform announcement by President Barack Obama in Las Vegas, Congressman Marc Veasey released the following statement:

“I applaud the President for leading us in a monumental task that is long overdue. The 11 million undocumented immigrants can’t want another week, another month or another year. It’s time to step up and tackle this issue in a bipartisan manner.

As Congressman from the Dallas-Fort Worth area, I am hard at work building coalitions, meeting with organizations and reaching across the aisle to make immigration reform a reality. I have reached out to my colleagues in the Congressional Hispanic Caucus for example, and will continue working with the Congressional Black Caucus and organizations like the National Council of La Raza. Together, we will make comprehensive immigration reform happen.

I look forward to reviewing the bipartisan framework introduced by the group of Senators yesterday and stand with President Obama in declaring comprehensive immigration reform a top priority.”
