Rep. Veasey’s 4th of July greetings

Statement from Congressman Marc Veasey on July 4th celebrations:

This July 4th, as we fire up the grill, go to our community parades, relax by the pool or just spend a the day with friends and family, I wanted to reflect on our past and say thank you.

Our Founding Fathers and Mothers risked their lives fighting for freedom and independence. Their vision of a more perfect union – one in which equality, justice and opportunity is available for all – is what we celebrate today.

Throughout our country's history, many have fought and perished fighting to protect the United States and the values we cherish.
So let us take a moment to say thank you to our veterans, and to those who currently serve our country.

Please join me in remembering the motivations and values that fueled our Founding Fathers and Mothers, recognizing the progress we have made, and pledging to continue to work to make the United States a more perfect country.
