Getting those cases heard in a timely manner has been a critique of the immigration orders. U.S. Representative Marc Veasey, District 33 (D-Fort Worth), seeks to change that with his "End the Backlog Act." A bill aimed to alleviate immigration backlog cases by hiring more judges. He estimates about 300 judges will be active by the end of the 2017 fiscal year, but he says the amount of backlogged immigration cases that at times are only heard for "minutes" calls for over 500 judges.

"It is absolutely ridiculous we have a shortage of judges at a time congress is increasing the amount of money spent on border security," said Rep. Veasey.
