Asian Culture and Community: Veterans who served country in Korea, Vietnam honored
Rep. Marc Veasey recently honored two veterans who served in Asian wars. At his Fort Worth office, Veasey presented Delton Dale Parker of Fort Worth with medals he earned with the Navy from 1952 to 1955 during the Korean War. Parker received the Navy Good Conduct Medal, China Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with two bronze stars, the United Nations Medal and the Korean Defense Service Medal.

Veasey presented Michael Killam, also of Fort Worth, with medals and a proclamation from President Barack Obama commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War. Killam served with the Army in Vietnam from 1969 to 1971. He was captured early in his tour and spent four months as a prisoner of war. Killam now serves as program manager at Military Veteran Peer Network in Tarrant County.
