4 House Dems Urge FCC, DOJ To Approve Charter-TWC Merger

Four House Democrats on Wednesday wrote to the Federal Communications Commission and the U.S. Department of Justice in support of Charter Communications Inc.’s bid to acquire Time Warner Cable Inc. and Bright House Networks LLC, saying that the proposed megadeal would benefit consumers, create thousands of American jobs and increase Charter’s workplace diversity.

Charter has already made notable strides in all three areas and would make further progress if federal regulators approve the deal, according to the Wednesday letter signed by Reps. Marc Veasey of Texas, Joyce Beatty of Ohio, Terri Sewell of Alabama and Gregory Meeks of New York.
