Rep. Veasey took the House floor on Dec. 3rd to congratulate Proyecto Inmigrante on their eight year anniversary on December 7th. Proyecto Inmigrante is a nonprofit organization in Dallas and Fort Worth that, since 2005, has served the community by providing low cost and reliable immigration counseling. Proyecto also serves a critical role in protecting a vulnerable immigrant community from fraud and abuse.

Rep. Veasey commended the organization on its hard work and on the perseverance of its Executive Director, Douglas Interiano, the  staff, and volunteers, who all work to help their clients navigate the immigration system to become permanent residents and citizens, and to apply for deferred action.

Rep. Veasey Questions Witness Panel at "Is My Data on Healthcare.gov Secure?" Committee hearing

On November 19, 2013, the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology held a hearing on security and privacy issues related to healthcare.gov.  The healthcare.gov portal is the public’s interface with Health Insurance Marketplaces established under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). It was developed and is operated by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), part of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).  Signing up has been slow, time consuming, and frustrating to many in the initial phase.  Rep. Marc Veasey (TX-33) posed questions to the witness panel at the Full Committee hearing titled "Is My Data on Healthcare.gov Secure?"
