Veasey Statement on Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act

September 13, 2016

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, a member of the House Science, Space and Technology Committee, released the following statement after the House voted to reauthorize the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006:

“Today, I was proud to vote in favor of H.R. 5587, the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act, to ensure all Americans have the ability to climb the economic ladder of opportunity. This bipartisan bill is a much needed reform to the Carl D. Perkins Act, which has funded career and technical education programs since 1984. I look forward to working closely with the Department of Education to ensure that public serving institutions in the DFW Metroplex have the tools they need better train students in well-paying middle skilled jobs.
