Republicans Shutdown Government to Raise your Health Care Costs

Washington, D.C. – On October 1, 2025, the federal government shut down after Republicans blocked a resolution to extend the Affordable Care Act’s Premium Tax Credit. Without the extension, millions of Americans will see their premiums skyrocket, with some families facing thousands of dollars in monthly healthcare costs.
