Rep. Veasey to Announce Congressional Art Competition Winner

DALLAS/FORT WORTH, TX– Winning Student’s Artwork Will Be on Display in Nation’s Capitol.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 30, Congressman Marc Veasey will announce the winning artwork for the 33rd District’s Congressional Art Competition at Mountain View College. Congressman Veasey’s office received over 30 submissions from Carter-Riverside High School, Diamond Hill High School, Laurence Dunbar High School, Everman High School, Grand Prairie High School and Northside High School. The winning artwork will be on display for one year in the U.S. Capitol, and the selected student will receive a roundtrip ticket to Washington D.C to view their artwork and be honored at a reception.

The Congressional Art Competition “An Artistic Discovery,” reception will be held at the East Foyer at Mountain View College. All artwork submissions to the competition will be on display there until May 3, 2013. The reception will honor all participating students and their families, with Congressman Veasey presenting the award to the winning student.
