Rep. Veasey Launches ‘Marc Means Business’ Workdays Initiative during March District Work Period

March 19, 2014

DALLAS, TX – Today, Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, kicks off the first in a series of “roll up your sleeves” local business visits across Texas’ 33rd congressional district, by touring and working as a baking assistant at Del Norte Bakery, a woman-owned and operated Hispanic bakery in Dallas.

This is the first in a series of visits planned to employers across Texas’ 33rd congressional district as part of Rep. Veasey’s ‘Marc Means Business’ initiative to better understand the jobs that exist in the district and the challenges that constituents face in their jobs and daily lives. As part of this ongoing initiative, Veasey will visit a variety of local businesses across the Metroplex.

“I am launching this initiative during Women’s History Month to highlight the contributions that women business owners have made to America’s economic growth,” said Veasey. “My hope is that this month’s visit will provide some real-world perspective to inspire women to realize their dreams of running their own businesses. After all, small businesses are going to be the growth engine that drives the economic recovery.”
