Rep. Veasey Adds Uber Driver to His Resume

April 30, 2019

The Congressman was dubbed the ‘undercover Congressman’ during his most recent of 60 Marc Means Business stops.

Dallas, TX- On Thursday, April 18th, Congressman Marc Veasey got behind the wheel as an Uber driver in the DFW Metroplex as part of his Marc Means Business initiative. During his 4-hour shift, he enjoyed conversations with North Texas residents, while driving them safely to their destinations. At the end of his shift, he earned a five-star Uber rating.

"Since starting Marc Means Business five years ago, I have worked in 60 different jobs around the Metroplex. I've worked alongside cattle ranchers, Lockheed engineers, and Starbucks baristas, but driving an Uber around North Texas is one for the books," said Rep.Veasey. "All my pickups had unique perspectives to share and they all had different reasons for making the DFW region their home. I'm glad they had a great time, and I thank them for sharing their afternoon commute with me."

Since March 2014, the Marc Means Business initiative has connected Rep. Veasey with constituents at their place of employment to better understand the challenges they face in their work and daily lives.
