FORT WORTH, TX– $269,856 Awarded to FWHA’s Housing Choice Voucher Family Self-Sufficiency Program and $250,000 Emergency Capital Funds to go to Butler Place Public Housing Community.
Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33) announced the awarding of over $500,000 federal funds to the Fort Worth Housing Authority (FWHA). The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded $250,000 in Emergency Capital Funds to FWHA, which will be used to improve the safety and security at Butler Place Public Housing Community. Another $269,856 will go to the Housing Choice Voucher Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program that assists families with supportive services.
Upon news of this federal funding, Congressman Marc Veasey stated, “The Fort Worth Housing Authority serves thousands of families, seniors and disabled persons. The awarding of over $500,000 means that safe, affordable housing and supportive services will be made available to families in the Metroplex. In this time of steep proposed budget cuts, I am fighting to ensure that the 33rd Congressional District receives critical federal funding for housing, education, health care, and jobs. I applaud HUD for investing in Fort Worth and thank the Fort Worth Housing Authority for their work in meeting the community’s critical housing needs.”
