Congressman Veasey Hauls DFW Trash
Rep. Veasey will work with sanitation crew at Knight Waste Services for his June ‘Marc Means Business’ workday
Fort Worth, TX – On Thursday, June 30, 2016, Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, will join the sanitation crew at Knight Waste Services to collect trash and recycling for Fort Worth area residents. As part of his ‘Marc Means Business’ work day, Veasey will learn how to operate and ride-along in a back loader garbage truck, pick up trash and recycling bins curbside, and learn more about what it takes to work a morning shift under the Texas heat.
“In rain, sleet, or snow, the crew at Knight Waste Services comes out every week to pick up trash and recycling for over 90,000 Fort Worth residents,” said Congressman Veasey. “This sometimes thankless job is vital to ensuring the cleanliness of our neighborhoods and city and I’m excited to get a rare behind scenes look at this essential job.”
Since March 2014, Veasey has spent a day each month working at a different job in his district learning about the diverse range of businesses in the 33rd Congressional District of Texas. The Marc Means Business series connects Veasey with constituents at their place of employment to better understand the challenges they face in their work and daily lives.
