Rep. Veasey Congratulates DISD School for National Blue Ribbon School Award

Washington, D.C. - Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, released the following statement after the Department of Education named Dallas Environmental Science Academy as one of three DFW Metroplex schools recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School, which honors 342 schools for their overall academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups:

Rep. Veasey Reintroduces Legislation To Lessen Financial Burden for Grandparent Caregivers

WASHINGTON, D.C. – In honor of National Grandparents Day, Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, reintroduced H.R. 3796, the Grandparents Tax Credit Act, which provides a $500 refundable tax credit to help cover additional expenses for grandparent caregivers. This legislation aims to lessen the out-of-pocket costs that grandparents take on when they step up to help raise their grandchildren when their parents cannot.

Congressman Veasey Marks September as "National Voting Rights Month"

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, co-chair of the Congressional Voting Rights Caucus (CVRC), renewed his pledge to ensure all Americans participate in our nation’s democracy by introducing H. Res. 501, a resolution designating the month of September as “National Voting Rights Month.” The resolution not only encourages all Americans to exercise their Constitutional right to vote but also encourages our nation’s public schools and universities to develop an academic curriculum on the importance of voting.
