Rep. Veasey attended the United We Dream press conference in Washington D.C on July 25, 2013. 2013- Congressional Art Competition

Rep. Veasey announced the winner of the first Annual Congressional Art Competition for Texas’ 33rd Congressional District at a reception titled “An Artistic Discovery” held at Mountain View College in Dallas, TX. The competition winner, Carlos Ramirez, is a senior at Grand Prairie High School and entered a photo entitled, “Sewing Machines.” Over 30 entries were summited by students from various CD33 High Schools. Ramirez was awarded a round-trip ticket to Washington, DC to attend a reception and view his piece on display at the United States Capitol, where it will remain on display for the year.
