Veasey Takes a Shift at Local Black-Owned Business
Fort Worth, Texas – On Thursday, February 23, 2017, Congressman Marc Veasey will clock-in with Kemp & Sons General Services, a black-owned business in Fort Worth, Texas, for his February ‘Marc Means Business’ work day. During the morning shift, Veasey will roll-up his sleeves to assist with general cleaning at the Veterans Outpatient Clinic located at 2201 SE Loop 820 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Kemp & Sons General Services was founded in 1972 as Kemp's Janitorial Services. In 1998, Larry Kemp left his career at IBM to take over the family’s small commercial cleaning business. Since then, Kemp & Sons General Services has grown to service nearly $22 million in contracts in Texas and Alabama for airports, corporate office buildings, healthcare facilities, municipalities and more while employing more than 200 workers.
Since the launch of “Marc Means Business” in March 2014, Veasey has clocked-in at 35 small and large businesses across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The Marc Means Business constituent outreach series connects Veasey with residents at their place of employment to better understand the challenges they face in their work and daily lives.
