Rep. Veasey to participate in Dallas Immigration Reform Town Hall

August 30, 2013

DALLAS, TX –Texas Organizing Project (TOP), and North Texas Immigration Coalition (NTIC) will host an immigration reform town hall meeting with special guest Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33) this Saturday, Aug. 31 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Grace Fellowship in Christ Jesus Church, located at 411 S. Westmoreland Rd. in Oak Cliff. The town hall is free and open to the public.

“Every immigrant comes to our country with hope, determination and optimism – reinvigorating America and making America more American,” said Congressman Veasey. “During the 113th Congress, we have a real opportunity to pass comprehensive immigration reform that adheres to our basic American principles. I look forward to hearing from Dallas residents on this proposed policy measure that will modernize our immigration system and help grow our economy while reuniting families.”

The town hall will feature a presentation on the comprehensive immigration reform proposal brought to Congress earlier this summer, testimonials from Dallas residents whose lives have been impacted by our nation’s broken immigration system, a “Question & Answer” panel on the immigration reform debate, as well as a keynote address from Congressman Veasey.
