Dallas, TX – (Friday, March 8, 2013) - Congressman Marc Veasey and Congressman Luis Gutierrez held an immigration roundtable at Mountain View College. The roundtable discussion focused on the need to implement comprehensive immigration reform and included elected officials and community leaders from across the Metroplex.

“Immigration reform is needed now. We need to do this for the LGBT community, students, working families, and an array of different ethnic groups in the Metroplex and across the country. Yesterday, we were joined by elected officials and leaders across Dallas and Fort Worth who also see the need to pass immigration reform. Congressman Gutierrez and I are fighting every day to make sure that the voices of those in the 33rd District are heard,” said Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33).

“All of the road signs are pointing towards actually passing immigration reform this year. The President, the politics, the policy and the American people are lining up behind this. We also have new allies in the 113th Congress – leaders like Congressman Marc Veasey – that are championing immigration reform. People around the country need to make their voices heard and push us in Washington to get something done. I came to the Metroplex because Congressman Veasey is a strong partner and ally, and together, we are going to get this done,” said Congressman Luis Gutierrez (IL-04).
